May 29, 2007 - Magnolia tree

The magnolia trees are blooming in Greenville, SC This is a follow-up to yesterday’s photo showing a magnolia blossom. However, I cheated. Today’s photo was taken in Charleston where we spent last weekend enjoying the Spoleto Arts Festival. In my defense, today’s photo could have been taken on almost any street in Greenville. The magnolia’s are everywhere. I have provided extra photos showing another Magnolia bloom and the sign at Magnolias restaurant.

We were told that there are two places from Charleston which are listed in the book called “1000 places to see before you die”. Magnolias and Number 2 Meeting Street Inn. This last weekend we were lucky enough to get a table at Magnolias as walk-ins. The food and service were great.

I like the way the links open to the image; sigh, how I envy you techno-savvy people! Magnolias are really special blooms, and your photographs do them justice!

Kate, the effect when opening an image comes from a javascript called lightbox. I have unsuccessfully tried to make this work with blogger.
