While out for a walk Sunday evening I took this photo showing Greenville’s effort to preserve cobblestone at the Upcountry History Museum on the Heritage Green. Here is a close up photo.

I have not seen cobblestone in a lot years. Since 1985. It’s nice to see that someone is preserving it!

I like the memories this picture evokes. Not of cobblestones but of streets in brick. That was a very commong paving material here in my state. And the “stop” signs used to be brass triangles embedded in the center of the street in the bricks and stuck up about 4 inches. A kind of miniature brass ramp with the words STOP in relief. A neat idea that disappeared with the passage of time but it clearly showed the reverence we have these days for life. I guess.
I am not sure if you got there or not but if you did, thank you for visiting my blog yesterday and for your comments about my Rose-Breasted Grosbeak. I am into architecture today with the Brookville Community Theatre.

The design patterns show off the cobblestones to good advantage as does your photo. Have a good week, Denton!

This is so cool. I didn’t know about the cobblestone until you first posted it. Love the close up extra pic.
