April 30, 2007 - Maverick Bar and Grill at the High Cotton restaurant

Maverick Bar and Grill at the High Cotton restaurant in Greenville, SC Saturday night we ate at the new High Cotton restaurant in downtown Greenville. This photo is of the Maverick Bar and Grill at the restaurant. The food and ambiance was very good. The soufflé was outstanding … From a photographic stand point the lighting was an interesting challenge.  This outside view of the restaurant shows the lighting as well.

Today Hyde DP is revisiting those that took part in the 2006 “other city” theme, with links to the other participants.

Wow! I love the outside shot! It really adds to the context of the inside shot. You’re right — lighting…tough!

I like both shots…very good, but there is something special about the outside one.
The restaurant, another on my list to try one day.

Sorry to be “that guy,” but to clarify the “Maverick Bar and Grill” is a term with a double meaning, really. High Cotton is Maverick in the sense that it is part of the Maverick Southern Kitchens family, but more importantly that the restaurant serves food and operates differently than others, hence being a “maverick” on the scene.

but back to my original point, haha, it’s all one really, really, really big, glamorous restaurant and one hell of a foodgasm.

Anon, thanks for the clarification. And I agree it is one really big clamorous restaurant.
