April 2, 2007 - The LOVE Show presented by Ric Standridge

The Love Show presented by Ric Standridge in Greenville, SC Saturday night Ann, a Greenville Daily Photo reader from Atlanta, joined us in attending the LOVE show presented by Ric Standridge. We also had another friend join us while meeting several people we know at the show as well. Everyone had a great time … The LOVE show lived up to its billing as “A multi-sensory artistic experience featuring food, wine, and live painting interpretation of music by the Beatles”. The show was outstanding. So much so that I could not limit myself to one photo. Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger version. Let me know how you like the “lightbox” effect when you click on the thumbnails … I would also like to brag on my Sony A100 DSLR camera. These photos turned out very good given the lighting and the fact that they were taken without a tripod.

Great pics, Denton. Looks like you’ve a right to brag on that camera. And I do like the lightbox effect; it really makes the enlargements stand out.

Denton, I am very impressed. How did you do that light box thing? Is that wordpress or somethings else? I was also impressed with your camera once i goggled it.

Kate, wish you had been there as well. I had a great time taking the photos and am pleased to share them.

Laurie, I am always surprised by what this camera can do. Let me know what you think of tomorrow’s photos which show a lot of motion and the effect of changing light … Thanks for your comment about the lightbox. Actually it is a variation of the lightbox called thickbox.

Ann (from Atlanta :-) We had a great time as well. Thanks for emailing the photos you took.

Olivier, thank you.

Pastorrick, lots and lots of fun. For me the music was what made the night.

Sequim Lavender Lady, thank you. The lightbox effect is actually a javascript which I will add to the sites I host. Once I work out how best to implement and configure it I will send an email to you and the others I host for such that you can use the feature as well. I am also experimenting with the idea of a lightbox based gallery.

THANKS TO ALL OF OF MY FRIENDS THAT MADE THE EVENING, ONE OF MAGIC AND REFLECTION. MUSIC, WINE, FOOD, ART AND LAUGHTER. GREENVILLE ROCKS!
I TRY TO PAINT THE SPIRIT OF THE BIRD’S FLIGHT NOT THE FEATHERS, APPEARS THAT YOU HAVE CAPTURED MUCH OF THE SPIRIT.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US, AND I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED FOR A NEW SHOW, COMING THIS YEAR.
PEACE AND LOVE, RIC

What strikes me is the fact that in our society, art has become something which is only related to objects, and not to individuals, or to life… But couldn’t everyone’s life become a work of art? Why should the lamp or the house be an art object, but not your life?
