Earlier this week I noticed a lot of activity at the West End Field where the Greenville Drive plays baseball. It was obvious they were preparing for the April 9th first game at home. While watching them prepare I tried to take a unique photo. What is shown is the manual scoring system in the “Green Monster” (their score board). My favorite Greenville Drive photo from last year was this one of a player swinging for the fence. For our local readers, I hope you make it to a few games and enjoy downtown Greenville.

That’s a kewl photo. I have not been to a baseball game in years. This post and the once of the batter swinging away make me want to go to a game.
An interesting post. I guess this is before electrified signage. I always wondered how they did this. Now I know. Thanks to your photograph.

Cool shot.
Helen, thank you. I thought the perspective was good. Also, thanks for your comment about the “swinging for the fence” photo. I was especially pleased that the bases were loaded.
Abe, actually the West End Field is very new. This will be its second season. The reason for the manual scoring is that West End Field is patterned after Fenway Park in Boston. Both ball fields have a “green monster” score board complete with manual scoring. At West End Field there is also electronic scoring as well.
Eric, thank you.
Well captured shot!
Unique, it is. I would love to happen along something like this. Wonderful to see, Denton.
I guess this is what’s called “thinking inside the box”
