March 15, 2007 - Mountain view from downtown Greenville

Mountain view from downtown Greenville, SC A reader who is planning to move to Greenville asked that I post a photo showing the mountains. To truely define Greenville the mountains have to be part of the collage. In fact if you live in the northern part of Greenville a view of the mountains is common from most front poarches. However, from downtown the mountains are a little harder to see. The mountain chain seen in this photo is about 45 mintues north with peaks in the 4,000 foot range.

I love the atmosphere in the photo!
It’s so great that the mountains are close to the city. I like to go there (but to Madrid’s mountains of course) and switch off from the city for a while!

Cool pic. And the mountains are beautiful. I know folks from the West laugh at 4,000 ft, but if you’ve never hiked in mountains higher — these are quite impressive. :)

It makes my heart fill with happiness when I live in or near the mountains. I now live in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains; I grew up in the Ozark Mountains. I’ve lived in flat land but never truly felt at home there though I know some like that best.

Thanks for filling my request … if you were referring to me.
We visited G’ville and loved it, and saw the mountains when exploring north of the city. It is, as you said, difficult to view them from downtown. But this photo, as are all your photos, is terrific!
