March 7, 2007 - A painter’s palette

Ric Standridge's painting palette in downtown Greenville, SC We had a very busy weekend which included the First Friday art gallery crawl. One of the studios we stopped at was Ric Standridge’s. In fact this is a photo of his painting palette … Now for my plug … Ric is putting on THE LOVE SHOW on March 30th and 31st. The advertising says “A multi-sensory artistic experience featuring food, wine, and live painting interpretation of music by the Beatles” … How cool is that? We will be there, so say hello if you see us … PS: Click here to see another view of the painting palette.

My goodness, how very interesting and it reminds me of my late husbands pallette. He had such a mixture on there!

Great photo today!

Oh and the other pic is also great! I think painters are a little chaotic… is that a bohemian skill?

I confess I had the same thought as Isabella until I check the other links. What a great way to spend a Friday evening.

Pat, I admire artist such as your late husband. I wish I had the talent.

Dsole, thank you. And I agree that a painters palette is chaotic. Maybe even artist in general are a little chaotic.

Isabella, I like the texture in the photo and the mystery of what it is. I considered asking readers to guess but choose to announce what the photo was of in the title.

Jing, yes making art can be art. A live painting performance is becoming a popular art form.

Olivier, thank you.

Norma, yes we enjoy our First Friday excursions. Besides the art there is also wine at the gallery and fun conversation.

I agree about artists being chaotic…I know several in various art forms. I myself am a writer and often feel sort of chaotic in a sense. I find it hard to be still for too long, except when the writing is so inspired that i can’t stop.
