March 5, 2007 - George Clooney fliming the movie Leatherheads

George Clooney during the fliming of the movie Leatherheads in Greenville, SC Everyone in Greenville is all a buzz about George Clooney filming the movie LeatherHeads in Greenville and the surrounding area. On Sunday one of the film locations was the Westin Poinsett Hotel just down the street from where we live. This photo is of a scene in which George rides up on a motorcycle.

Lessie, who publishes the Anderson Daily Photo, took a closeup of the motorcycle.

George Clooney! Swoon!! Oh yes, the photo…I noted the symmetry of the three windows immediately–nice. Were you a fan of Rosemary Clooney? I was and loved her voice.

So cool! You got George! Even if the back of his head. :) Here is a shot of the motorcycle in the lot when they were in Anderson. :)

It is always cool when you catch a glimpse of someone famous. I am looking forward to the movie, just so I can pick out places that I know!

Jing, personally I like Clooney’s directing more than his acting. The movie he directed called “Good Night and Good Luck” was outstanding.

Kate, you and my wife. All a flutter about good looking George … Rosemary Clooney could sing that is for sure. And she sang songs I like.

Susan, that is exactly what my wife said. Actually, it was very hard to get any photo and I choose to post the photo which looked least like a paparazzi shot.

Lessie, thanks for your link. I will put the link in my post.

Cory, I’m also looking forward to the movie. I’m also looking forward to less film crew noise and disruption. Actually having the movie shot here is a great plus which I should not begrudge. But every other event downtown which disrupts my sleep I can go out and enjoy. However, in this case it was a lot like a neighbor having a loud party and not inviting me.

Jing,

Yes, that movie was very interesting. If illustrates why it is so important for the people of a country to have FREEDOM TO COMPLAIN, TO ORGANIZE, AND TO VOTE in order to keep their government “in check.”

Power corrupts. It always has and it always will. That is why it is imperitive that people are allowed to vote officials in and OUT of office!

I hope your country gets that chance SOON!

I came looking to see if you had any photos of the filiming of the Clooney movie that I read about in a magazine today, and of course you had a shot. Hope you can catch more of it. What excitement to have a film crew around.

Hello!

I was an extra on the set in front of the Westin Poinsett when you took the picture of Clooney riding up on the motorcycle. I was wondering if you had any other pictures. I started at the left side of the set and went through the revolving door as George went in the side door.

I would love to have a picture if I am in any of the ones you took.

Thanks!

Kelly, congratulations on your part in the movie. I wish I had a photo showing your performance, however I do not. I hope your part makes it past the editing stage and I hope you retain many wonderful memories of the experience.
