Today is theme day in the daily photo community. The subject is “men at work” and in my mind a man with a shovel is a man at work. A special thank you to the gentleman on the left who posed special for this photo. And you may not believe it however years ago I had a ponytail like the guy on the right … Visit the following links to see photos of “men at work” around the world. What a bright day to be out working…and before it gets hot, too. So, what are they digging up/filling in?
they look warm in the heavy coats, but I see no snow
Denton, its really surprising to know that you had a ponytail like that before.:)
we belive you, denton!
Hard work, but necessary!
i have ponytail too…..
:))
longer…..
surprised too. you had it before.
but nice shot, one face, one back….all work hard!!
jing
It must be very hot working under the sun in the heavy coats. Really hard work.
Great photo of a true “man at work”!
Now, can we see one of you with a ponytail ;-)
Surely you have a photo of you with that ponytail somewhere that you could share, don’t you? :D
cela fait parti des travaux vraiment tres dur, en plus quand il fait tres froid ou tres chaud, cela doit etre inhumain comme travail
that made party of work really very hard, in more when the weather is very cold or very heat, that must be inhuman like work
another earth-mover!
I wonder if those kind of works are going to finish someday… my city is full of holes too!
Nice photo and nice ponytail, Denton!
I just love the expression on that man’s face. And I have to say that I have a lot of respect for those who can go out and do hard manual labor day after day. It’s a rather thankless job.
The guy on the right has an interesting design on his jacket. I haven’t seen that design before.
That is really hard physical work! Great photo!
I like the guy on the left. Interesting outfit for this kind of work.
I remember that ponytail! But it seems like so long ago. I remember when our brother cut his…now that was a shocker to a lot of people.
Gresat shot – you can feel it is cold
Thank you everyone for your comments and participating in the theme today.
They look so warm! And I like his smile. (A PONYTAIL?)
This is what you could call really HARD work. My guy has a long curly ponytail….why did you cut yours off? Time for a change?
I like the front and back effect of the two men. Good shot.
Lisa, they are working on a major improvement to the downtown storm water and drainage system.
Slinger, no snow here. We actually get very little snow and our winters are mild. However earlier this month when I took this photo we have a couple of weeks with freezing weather.
Zsolt72, yes I had a beard and ponytail for years. I cut the beard about 10 years ago and the ponytail about 4 years ago. I cut the ponytail when I purchased a convertible and my hair whipped around to much.
Kris, thank you.
Sally, yes the work is very necessary! Especially given is it an improvement for storm water drainage and it has been raining all day today.
Jing, my ponytail was actually only about six inches so I would not call in long. It was more of the mullet look.
~tanty~ yes hard work and heavy coats. However, we are not use to cold weather.
Isabella, no digital photos of my ponytail. But I’ll look to see if I can find a photo to scan.
Lisa, I’ll look but no promises.
Olivier, thanks for dropping by.
Gerald, yes construction has been a popular photo today.
Dsole, yes lots of holes all around the world. If the construction did not occur what would be the result? I wonder?
Victoria, yes the guy on the left asked if his photo would make the newspaper. I told him even better the whole world would see his photo. Then I asked him to smile.
ming_the_merciless, I have seen the orange jackets in a couple of theme day photos today.
Marc, thank you.
Ben, yes the guy on the left wanted to make sure he did not get cold.
Norma mentioned our brother. That would be our younger brother Jeff who have a truly long pony tail for many years longer than I did. Actually Jeff’s ponytail looked much better than mine.
Ham, to us where the weather is normally mild a little cold is a lot of cold.
Lessie, funny to reflect on our past fashion statements.
Kuanyin, I cut the ponytail because after purchasing a convertible my hair whipped around to much.
NIce photo! Yes, I agree a man with a shovels is a man at work!
Denton, a hippie?? Yea! Great working photo. (PS. Just got back from holiday in PVR and looking at blogs for the first time. They’re great!)
The gentleman on the left looks like he is really proud of his photo being taken. In fact you showed a real appreciation for his work. Great photo of a great moment.
Cheers!
The gentleman of the left? Isn´t he taking a break without a kit-kat?
