On New Year’s Eve I asked the management at the Hyatt if I could take a photo from a restricted area. They wanted to know who I was with. My response was that I am not with the press. I went on to explain that I am with GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com which is part of a Global Daily Photo blog community. This photo is the result of that request.

Happy New Year! I just discovered Daily Photo when I Googled “KL life” and found Edwin’s photos. I have a nephew who just moved to KL.
Greenville got my attention ’cause my Dad grew up in Oconee County & graduated from Clemson. I have relatives in Walhalla & surrounding areas. I didn’t realize that Greenville had become such an art friendly, cosmopolitan city. I just looked at your photos from 1-1-06 through today & I wanted to say THANK YOU. It’s like I’ve found a treasure chest full of jewels. What a gift to get to appreciate your gift of sharing your photography. It really is a wonderful world we live in. I can’t wait to look at the other cities- it will keep me busy, won’t it?! I’ll love it! Thanks again-LA

Great photo Denton! I’ve contemplated doing exactly what you have now successfully accomplished! It’s obvious that by asking permission, the results can be outstanding!!!

that’s quite a party…
Denton, lol re Connie’s post-grad status as domestic goddess…I guess I’m gonna be a well educated lazy person…I work hard so that I can be lazy, really lazy!

I’ve had that conversation with people too. Some of them I even had to explain what a blog is. I’m beginning to think having a few “business” cards made up might be helpful and give some legitimacy. Your photo has such a holiday mood, it must have been quite a lovely party!

I hope you put that camera in your pocket and took your date onto the dance floor!

LA, thank you for the complement. I hope you visit often.
Carol, not my best photo but it was from a good angle.
Kate, comments such as LA’s make me feel very good.
Olivier, festive around the world.
Sophie, the hard part is asking permission.
Lisi, lazy is an admirable goal as long as your work hard at it.
David, welcome to the daily photo family.
Lessie, everyone was having a great time.
Louz, several of us in the daily photo family use business cards. They help add legitimacy and they drive traffic to the blog.
Annie, very good advice. Actually my wife (Connie) and I brought the New Year watching Dick Clark and the ball dropping in New York. I then dropped in on this part just for the photo.
