This photo shows the Christmas lights and a carriage ride on Main Street in Historic West End. Similar trees and lights run the full length of Main Street. This is a really good time to walk on Main Street.

As demonstrated by this photo the weather is very confusing in Greenville. I took this photo yesterday when the temperature was 76 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius). Only last week the fountains were freezing. Hopefully it will cool off before Christmas.
Recently we found a restaurant and bar called Chicora Alley and it is now become a favorite of ours for a later afternoon meal. The photo posted today is from a mural at the top of the stairs leading to Chicora Alley. There are a few other establishments in the second floor of buildings on Main Street however not many. It is fun discovering them.
This photo, of the 8 O’clock grocery store, was taken on my walk last weekend in the Augusta road area near downtown. This is an interesting store mainly because the owner of this grocery store has been there forever and greets his customers by name. However, the reason I share this photo is as a pun to remind me that after a week away from work I have to start work again at 8 o’clock today.
This photo was taken last weekend on an extended walk and photo hunt which covered both ends of downtown. During that walk I passed the Hyatt Regency hotel and was surprised to notice the triangle shape of one wing in the hotel. Can you imagine how they positioned the bed in the rooms at the point of the triangle? … I was traveling this week and spent a lot of time in hotels. It was great to see relatives and it is great to be back home in Greenville.
