December 16, 2006 - Evening light in the August Road area

Evening light while on a walk in the August Road area near downtown Greenville, SC

This photo was taken last weekend when I took a late afternoon walk in the Augusta Road area near downtown Greenville. I especially liked the light in this photo. Also, I am envious of the perfectly placed sunroom.

Red brick colonial-style houses have a charm all their own, and you caught this one quite well.

I love that house. There’s also a great house right down at the bottom of the hill from that one. Sort of an Engish Tudor style. I love that one too. Lot of great places in that area.

I love the light at that time of day at this time of year. Very nice, christmasy card type of home.

Olivier, thank you.

Carol, thank you and I’m impressed with your French.

Kate, I took photos of several homes during my walk but this one had the light and a sun room so I choose to share it.

Norma, I know for a fact you have a home many dream of. But I agree this one may be one to aspire to.

Jing, sorry but I don’t know who lives in this house. In general it is thought that “old money” lives in this neighborhood.

Eric, I think I took a photo of the house your in reference to. However the light was not what I wanted so I guess I will have to go back and try again. There really is a never ending set of photo opportunities.

Susan, yes I agree. This house reminds me of Christmas.
