December 13, 2006 - A Menorah as part of the holiday lights

In honor of Hanukkah there is a Menorah as part of the holiday lights in Greenville, SC In honor of the Jewish holiday Hanukkah this year Greenville has added a Menorah as part of our holiday lights on Main Street. If any local reader know of a display in honor of Kwanzaa please let me know. If we have other holiday displays in Greenville please let me know. I would love to add a photo from each. Happy holidays to one and all.

Hi! Do they still have the star on Roper Mountain? If I remember well, it’s a huge star mounted at the top (at the planetarium maybe?) and can be seen from miles around Greenville.

Vivi, I am currently out of town so I can not check. However, be sure and check back next week because I will certainly try to take a photo of the lightshow at the planetarium.

Tr3nta, welcome to the daily photo family. Hopefully my readers will stop by and leave a welcome greeting.

Jing, I really had no idea of how many people in Greenville were part of the Jewish faith. So to answer your question I Googled the subject and it appears roughly 1% of the population.

Lessie, thank you.

I actually went to see the lights at Roper Mountain tonight, and I think the big star would be a great photo for this site. It does cost $10 to get in, which is a little bit steep, but that star is pretty interesting to see.
