December 2, 2006 - BB&T building

BB&T building in Greenville, SC I took this photo last weekend and thought you might enjoy it. What I liked most were the angles, the shadows, and of course the blue sky. Also, I liked the early morning walk hunting for a photo opportunity. Have a good weekend.

Kero, it’s a bank.

How odd that it has no windows. Strange.

architecture surprenante, on dirait une pyramide à l’envers ;o)

structure surprising, one would say a pyramid to back; O)

Good to see a blue sky, here it’s raining again and again…A good week end to you, Denton.

I agree with you about the angles and the shadows. Reminds me of the adobe structures in the Southwest.

I love the shot but can’t say I like the building much. However, I’m sure the archtiect pitched your image of it at the drafting session with its perfect deep blue sky, high contrast and deeply defined shadow angles and and centered projection. This is what its designer’s wish its looks like everyday. Wonder how it is perceived as when the weather isn’t so good and the photographer isn’t, either.

Impressive, but where are the windows? And we do share the same sky, don’t we Denton?

You’ve very successfully taken a…well—not real attractive building, and made it beautiful. Very nice photo!

I feel like I need to defend the poor BB&T building. It is actually very appealing. Over the next couple of weeks I will try to take and post a photo or two from different angles.

Keropokman, it is a bank. We bank elsewhere however we are considering moving our accounts to BB&T. (Wachovia if you are reading you might want to be concerned).

Susan, thank you. It is nice to have local reader commenting. The East and West facing walls have not windows while the North and South facing walls are almost all glass.

Olivier, you are correct. It is a pyramid on its back.

Jing, it caught my eye. The blue sky helped a lot.

Alice, my mother thought me to never complain about rain. But I sure do enjoy a day like the one when I took this photo.

Kate, yes I agree. Very similar to Southwest architecture.

Ja, you may be right. I will have to study the building on a gray day and see if it is appealing. You have now presented me with a challenge. Check back to see what I find out.

Isabella, yes we are actually relatively close and as a result share similar weather patterns. Except of course during the summer when no place on earth is hotter the Florida ):

Sophieandersen, thank you.
