House with a wraparound porch in Hampton Pinckney History Preservation Area of Greenville, SC

While out for a walk Sunday morning I took this photo in the Hampton Pinckney Historic Preservation Area. What I liked about this house was the big yard and the wraparound porch. Greenville does an outstanding job of preserving historic areas especially those near downtown.

A very typical, traditional, oldtime southern home! Especially the wrap-around porch which was used a lot pre-air conditioned days (how in the world did they stand the heat back then?).

A “fine” old home. I could live in a house like that…as long as it had the porch…and I would probably need airconditioning. I’ve gone soft in my old age. Thank you for sharing this wonderful old house.

When I think of Greenville, that’s what comes to mind…A rocking chair on the porch, some mint juleps ;)

It also is middle American, Midwest style. It is very nostalgic, reminiscient of days gone by when things seemed to be simpler then. Maybe not…

I know the owner of that house! It’s beautiful inside as well. :)
