October 26, 2006 - American Indian statue

American Indian statue in Greenville's Link Stone Park Last weekend I walked Greenville’s new multiple purpose path which starts at Linky Stone Park. While there I took this photo of the American Indian statue. Linky Stone Park is a great educational experience for the kids and us adults.

Olivier’s comments about the contrast between sculpture and sky is perceptive. The statue is strong, is it not?!

Olivier, thank you. I cropped the photo with the blue sky in mind.

Kate, yes the American Indian is often portrayed as strong as they should be.

Jing, sadly the history of American Indians include many injustices imposed on them. I find it good that their history is remembered and that our children are thought that the American Indian was here before us.

Very nice shot.

I agree that the blue sky is very fitting for this noble statue representing a noble nation.
