October 19, 2006 - Rainy night

Rainy night on Main Street in Grenville, SC The last two days have been rainy in Greenville so I went looking last night for reflections from the lights. Please notice the perspective and you will realize that I set my tri-pod up in the middle of the street.

Magnifique photo. La nuit, les lumieres, les reflets après la pluie, j’aime beaucoup

Splendid photograph. The night, the lights, the reflections after the rain, I like much

The picture is magnificent! Now was Connie watching for cars as you were standing in the middle of the street? Just sisterly concern…

Somehow it looks like being in Prague. Have you ever been there Denton?

Denton, I like this shot…maybe because Vancouver looks like this a lot in autumn/winter :-)

Krisz, yes reflections are fun. Actually it was not that late when I took the photo. About 9:30pm. The traffic was light due to the weather and the day of the week.

Norma, thank you.  No Connie was at home nice and warm.

Kate, thank you. No it was not as dangerous as I made it sound. The traffic was light. The best part was that I captured a perspective I had not thought of before.

MarieMcC, thank you.

Zsolt, no I have not had the pleasure of visiting Prague except though your photos.

Lisi, thank you.

Jing, thank you. What works for me is using a tripod with night settings on the camera along with taking the photo just after it rains at night on a street made of bricks. That and taking a lot of photos. One or two usually turn out pretty good.

Greenvilles got some nice cobblestone looking streets! and the road is so wide! Nice colors!

AWESOME! I love the different color reflections off the rainy wet cobblestone. Really beautiful!

I never knew that Greenville could look this pretty.
You did a great job taking the picture. How did you get it looking so good like that?

Kala and Helen. Thank you for your comments.

Jess, thank you. I was luck to catch the photo at just the right moment. A wet brick street reflect the street lights perfectly. A tripod and an umbrella is recommended as well.
