Last night we enjoyed the movie “Funny Face” at the moonlight movies. I started out looking for a photo in celebration of the ubiquitous bag chair which has become a necessity at downtown events. However, I like this photo and chose to share it. Click on the photo to see a larger version. Note the river behind the screen and the large red ball to the top right of the screen. For our local readers; Does anyone know why we now have a giant red ball in the construction at river place?

I attended a moonlight movie last year for the first time and I enjoyed it, though I prefer ‘real’ cinemas. I suppose such a film is broadcast during summers. For how long will you be able to attend those sessions ?
Denton, you have my curiosity up now. I’ll be down there Saturday… if I see someone that might know… I’ll be sure to ask and let you know. It must be huge if it’s on the other side of the river from Larkins. Glad you noticed it… gotta find out now.
that looks like a nice event. Here in HK we usually have outdoor movies only during the annual internatinal film festival in April
hah! i walked by there that night and also saw the red ball!!! my husband and i thought it was the funniest thing…maybe it has something to do with the builders being called “Creative Builders”…who knows!! if you find out let us know!
Denton, the giat red ball is for the Bounce Advertising Agency, whose offices will be located there.
I love this photo, by the way…you’ve outdone yourself with this one. It seems we both have a love of extended-exposure, low-light photography.

(I wish we could edit these comments so I could have put this all into one – my apologies for so many comments)
RT, thanks for letting us know the story behind the red ball. Sadly the ball was punctured on Thursday and now looks like a deflated balloon. Hopefully it will be replaced soon.
Matthieu, the moonlight movies don’t last long enough in my book. I think we have four in the Spring and then four again in the Fall.
Rock and Jessica, see RT’s explanation. He’s a wealth of information and an outstanding photographer.
