Yesterday, I walked past the construction at River Place. They continue to make rapid progress on River Walk, the fountain, and the artist store fronts on River Walk. Doug Young, shown in the photo, said he hopes to be open by the end of the month. Local readers have most likely seen Doug’s work. He did the Shoeless Joe Jackson sculpture in the West End which Greenville is very proud of.

And a great reflection of the photographer! Hello there! =)

Hi Denton, that can count as a self portrait as well!

That’s great! I happen to know Doug Young’s family, but I didn’t know Doug Young was opening his own place. Whenever they had the wine festival downtown he set up a little spot in the middle and was making a sculpture in the street. He does great work.

Anne, I was pleased with this because of the reflections. Doug is on the inside of the glass while my reflection was of me on the outside.
Lisi, based on your comment, I have updated my tags to include this photo in self-portrait.
Jessica, I watched Doug sculpt at the wine festival as well. He is very talented. PS: Congratulations on your cover photo for the Link magazine.

Thanks for posting the picture and the encouraging comments, everyone. Please visit the studio whenever you get a chance. I plan to have a life-size sculpture in my studio in about a week. (Provided we can fit in through the door.)
