June 27, 2006 - When it rains it pours

« day before | today | day after » Rain at the Bowater building in Greenville, SC Just the other day I told my wife that Greenville needed some rain. Well yesterday it rained and rained and rained. My mother taught me to never complain about the rain so this is not a complaint just a comment … Enough all ready.

The photo is from a parking garage next to the Bowater building and Falls Park in downtown Greenville. And yes I have to admit that I drove my car and did not walk to work yesterday.

I agree, my mom used to say the same thing as it was always good for the flowers and the grass. Also, here in Paris we’ve had a little rain and they put out an “alert”. I laughed my head off. In Florida during the summer, if we didn’t have a good downpour in the afternoon we’d all die from the heat. Great photo though…it’s hard to capture the image as it actually is in real life.

Ah, I love the rain though it makes me sad sometimes, don’t know why. Nice photo, I can feel the rain :)

When you ain’t got it you want it. We are having serious water shortage problems over here and I am getting worried about the forest fires.
Tomorrow is the Sainte Maxime DP funny caption competition day. Its going to be a good one:)

Michael, thanks for your complement. I took several photos of the rain and only a few came close to showing what it was like.

Tanty, you had three emotions expressed in two sentences about rain. As a man I am ill equipped to respond.

Kris, only comment not complain.

Mark, as much rain as we received we still need more. Preferably at a slow pace spread over several weeks.

Lisi, your photo looking down on an umbrella on June 2nd was outstanding. I also liked your “weeping lamp post” on June 13th.
