Art in Action

no comments

This artist takes finger painting to a new level. Choreographed to music and much to the crowd’s pleasure Brian Olsen creates a large scale painting in about 15 minutes using his fingers, elbows, and a lot of enthusiasm. For those of you in the Greenville area there is one more day of Artisphere and one more day to catch Act in Action. These additional photos show “art in action”. In this first photo Brian starts the painting, then this photo shows the work in process , and this photo shows the final results. Please welcome Beirut (Lebanon) to the global daily photo family.

Artisphere goes on in the rain

no comments

Prior to the rain, we enjoyed a band called Chicago Afrobeat Project (CAbP). Their website says they are “70s funk and jazz-infused afrobeat”. Our meal was from Larkins on the River.

Artisphere mime

no comments

These photos, in multiple exposure format, are from a party last night which proceeded the opening of Artisphere. As you can see the mime caught my attention. At the party there was a band, good food, and drinks. As everyone downtown heard the party ending with a fireworks display. Artisphere runs Friday though Sunday this weekend and given it is an international art event I expect several additional photos will be posted.

Also in this series is Senores and Senoritas at Senor Wraps on Main Street. Please welcome Oulu (Finland) and Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada) to the rapidly growing list of city photo blogs.

I took this photo yesterday evening and it says a lot about the weather in Greenville. The photo also demonstrates how nice it is to stroll and dine on Main Street. In addition the photo serves as proof to how popular Soby’s restaurant is. Click here to see the location of this photo.

Children’s Garden

no comments

This photo was taken at the Linky Stone Park which includes a children’s garden. My goal was to use color and shadow in the photo. The marone on the left is a pillar in the park. The park is under an overpass and each pillar is painted a different color.
