It looked like LA and the Oscars on Thursday night when the celebrities playing the BMW pro-am golf tournament were given the red carpet welcome in Greenville. The fans present had a chance to take photo and ask for autographes from Kevin Costner, Catherine Bell, Wayne Gretzky, Cheech Marin, John O’Hurley , John Elway, and Gary Player. Just to drop a few names. Today is a “theme day” for all City Daily Photo Bloggers. We are to show something in our city that suggests or refers to somewhere else. There are three DP blogs in the LA area. Click to visit San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles is everywhere, and Aliso Viej in Orange County.

Last night, at Main Street Jazz, the crowd was dancing. Each Friday from April through September there will be a jazz concert located at the Hyatt Regency Greenville Plaza Deck on Main Street. Click here for details. Those in the know bring a folding chair. See you there.
Recycling was the subject of yesterday’s post at the Vancouver (Canada) daily photo. So I posted a photo of the recycling center we use. Click here to see the location of recycling centers in Greenville. Please welcome Tucson, Santa Clara, and Stockholm.
I felt some color would help after the overcast rainy day we had yesterday. I hope you enjoy the color and the perspective. The hallway is at Senor Wraps on Main Street. From this same restaurant I recently posted another very colorful photo called Senores and Senoritas. Please welcome Zaltbommel (Netherlands) to the Daily Photo map.
Brian Olsen’s Art in Action performance really pulled in the crowds at Artisphere. It was good enough that we went twice. Click to see my previous post which shows Brian with both feet off the ground. Notice how green Greenville is. It is a great time of year. Please welcome Sydney (Australia) to the Daily Photo family. Drop by and leave them a note. Say you came from the Greenville DP blog.
A reader recently sent a request for photos showing housing in or near downtown Greenville. As a result I plan to post one photo a week on this subject for the next month. Today’s post is of a small subdivision called The Vineyard at North Main. Prior to selecting a condo downtown we gave this subdivision serious consideration. Of specific interest to us was the common green space and how close the subdivision is to downtown. Last night I was busy adding three new Daily Photo sites to the DailyPhoto map. Please drop by and welcome Chattanooga (USA), Honolulu (USA), and Saarbrücken (Germany).
At Artisphere, this weekend, my personal favorite artist was Curtis Krueger a photographer from Wilmington, North Carolina. Curtis had a display of photos taken in all 50 states. Each Photo included Mrs. Davis’ chair. Click for an explanation of the project. Mrs. Davis’ chair was on display as well. In fact the chair is included in my post. The photo on the left is of Mrs. Davis’ chair and the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. Please welcome Wellington (New Zealand) to the global daily photo family.
